Lesotho ranks amongst the most vulnerable countries experiencing increasing vulnerability to climate change, erratic rainfalls and droughts. Still, there is limited knowledge and capacity for Disaster Preparedness (DP) in rural areas and significant gaps in Early Warning (EW) and Early Action (EA) systems at all levels.
World Vision International Lesotho, through European Union Humanitarian Aid, recognizes the pressing need for disaster preparedness and resilience-building efforts in Lesotho, particularly in rural areas that are highly vulnerable to climate change-related challenges. The Strengthening and consolidating national and community capacities for effective disaster preparedness and response in Lesotho is addressing these issues and fostering community-level resilience.
